Mid Cape Weekender: Cape League Opens, Strawberry Festival Returns, and Two Jam Bands Share a Tent

The Cape League starts its 2026 season Saturday afternoon at Red Wilson Field and McKeon Park — both home openers, both free. Cotuit's HSSC Strawberry Festival is back the same day at noon. And on Saturday night moe. and Umphrey's McGee share the Cape Cod Melody Tent stage, which is a thing that pretty much never happens. ★ moe. and Umphrey's McGee · Sat June 13 · Doors 5:30 PM · Cape Cod Melody Tent, Hyannis Two jam-band heavyweights on the same bill at a 2,200-seat tent. moe. has thirty-five years of catalog; Umphrey's McGee has prog-rock chops and an improvisational reflex that turns set lists into suggestions. The Cape Cod Melody Tent does not host this kind of double bill often, and when it does, it is the show of the month. Go early. Stay late.

Solo piano show that runs from Mozart concertos to Stevie Wonder and Billy Joel without breaking a sweat. Two shows Wednesday (2 PM and 7:30 PM); 7:30 PM Thu, Fri, Mon, Tue. A safe bet if you want a single curated night.

The Cape Cod Museum of Art is running Joan Zagrobelny's Expressive Ceramic Sculpture, Aaron Souza's Still Life in Oil, and Stefanie Allen's Joy of Watercolor through June.
